Essential Store Cupboard Ingredients

Stevia

I like this brand of liquid stevia.  You can get it in powder form but I've heard that it can have a slight bitter taste.  You don't need much of this liquid stevia just a few drops.  Can be added to any drinks, desserts or baking.  I've even added a few drops to a sweet and sour chinese dish.  It is very sweet so use sparingly. Order from Amazon.

(Always test blood sugar to check if this effects you)

Whole Earth Granules

This is a blend of stevia leaf and erythritol which is a sugar alcohol.  I use mostly erythritol for baking but add in a little of this if I feel my recipe needs to be sweeter. It is very sweet so be careful to not add too much, add a little and check.   It is  available in all the supermarkets.

Erythritol

I use this as my main sweetner for baking.  It is made by fermenting the natural sugar found in corn.  It is a sugar alcohol and is zero GI.  It isn't completely digested so it has little effect on blood sugar levels.

Coconut Oil

I use this for cooking and baking and has such a lovely flavour.  Can get this from any supermarket.  It is a very good fat to use.

Apple Cider Vinegar  & Extra Virgin Olive Oil

ACV s so healing and it is said to reduce blood sugars if taken in water before meals and is good for all ailments colds etc.    I use it as a dressing with extra virgin olive oil for salads.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is lovely on vegetables or salads but I don't use it for cooking as I'm unsure how heat stable it is.  I choose Ghee or Coconut Oil as it is stable at higher temperatures.

Coconut Flour

I love using coconut flour for baking.  I make biscuits, cakes, pie crusts and bread which are delicious and the perfect alternative to regular flours.

Order from Amazon

Almond Flour

Almond flour is a fantastic alternative to regular flours.   I use it to make biscuits, cakes and bread which are delicious.

Order from Amazon  or this brand is from Holland and Barrett

Milled Flaxseed

I use milled flaxseed to make a quick 2 minute microwave bread which is delicious...recipe on my blog.  Can also be added to smoothies to thicken.

Can get this from any supermarket or online

Raw Cacao Powder

For that chocolate flavour just add raw cacao powder to baking or smoothies.

This is from Holland & Barrett but is available everywhere.
